A Little About Me
I was born in Salt Lake City but my parents moved to Lexington when I was only two, so I consider myself a central Kentucky native. I attended Tates Creek High School and graduated from Centre College in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Religion.I received my teaching certification and masters in Secondary English Education from the University of Dayton. I live in Lexington where I spend most of my spare time exercising, watching sports, reffing soccer, reading or watching movies, and spending time with my family (especially my three-year-old niece who thinks she is smarter than I am).
My primary goal as a teacher is to help students realize why English/Oral and Written Communication skills are so vital to their success beyond high school, and to improve their English abilities in ways that will help them reach their potential as members of college, work, and civil communities. Of course, I aim to do all of this while meeting state and national requirements and while preparing students for the requisite standardized tests.
I welcome interaction with parents and invite you to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have regarding your child's progress in my class.
